Ah, today is
November 10, 2014, the day before most important day ever, my birthday lol. But
no seriously, tomorrow is my birthday and I decided to drop a little knowledge
about the year of my birth, 1986. I actually got the idea to do this blog from
the song above by my man Big K.R.I.T.
The song is for damn sure dope as hell, so don't sleep on it.
A couple of big
things happened in 1986. But let's talk about how rent back then use to be
around $385 a month. If that doesn't ruffle your feathers a bit, how about the
fact that buying a brand new car was $9,000. To make it worse, you could build a
brand new home for $90,000, or a used one for $80,000. Ok still not phased, well
let's just throw out there that gas was 89 cents a gallon, 89 freaking cents
people, come on! Oh yea, I almost forgot, bacon was 1.75 a pound, ah, the good
ol days.
Famous People
Famous People
Well besides the
pretty obvious of it being my birth year, and that
Big K.R.I.T. was born this year as
well. This year birthed some pretty cool people, like that famous Canadian
Drake, and that weird ass
Lady Gaga,
that R&B chick that can really sing,
Sevyn Streeter & that pop singer that's growing on me,
Ellie Goulding. Some well known actors and actress were born this year too
with, that smart guy
Tahj Mowry,
that hot chick
Megan Fox,
that one guy who no one saw becoming a really great actor,
Shia
LaBeouf & those two really crazy chicks,
Lindsay Lohan &
Amanda
Bynes. My little sisters favorite show actors,
Drake Bell
& Josh Peck
from that show
Drake & Josh were born this year. Oh yea, my ex love interest
Kyla Pratt,
that chick that can sing on that show on fox,
Lea
Michele, not to mention pornstar
Yurizan Beltran, that's still acting in my book. Almost forgot those two
really famous twins that are really rich,
Mary-Kate &
Ashley
Olsen. A couple of athletes were born this year as well
Amir Khan,
DeSean Jackson,
Rafael
Nadal & the fastest man in the world,
Usain Bolt.
Movies
Movies
This year wasn't
really a memorable year in movies. A couple of movie franchises started up, and
a lot of sequels to current movie franchises at the time.
Top Gun,
Crocodile Dundee,
Platoon,
The Karate Kid Part II,
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home,
Back to School,
Aliens,
An American Tail,
The Golden Child &
Ruthless People made up the top 10 movies of the year.
Other well known
movies to be released were
About Last Night... (The original version),
Armed and Dangerous, Jackie Chan's classic,
Armour of God,

TV had a couple
big moments in 1986, namely
Oprah
Winfrey's show goes national.
Disney Channel begins airing 24hrs a day,
NBC also unveiled
it's Peacock logo.
Fox launches. HBO starting that cursed scrambling service that left many
teens looking at scrambled up boobs. A couple of debuts came this year with
The Redd Foxx Show,
Perfect Strangers,
The Flintstone Kids,
The Real Ghostbusters,
Pee-wee's Playhouse,
L.A. Law,
ALF,
Matlock,
with

Benson,
Diff'rent Strokes,
Knight Rider,
The
Love Boat,
The Merv Griffin Show,
T. J.
Hooker,
Tic Tac Dough &
Trapper John, M.D. all sadly ended during this year.
The
Cosby Show was the number one rated show of the year, well it's the
highest ranking sitcom of all time, so this is no surprise.
Music

Chuck
Berry,
James Brown,
Ray
Charles,
Fats
Domino,

A couple of famous
groups formed this year:

Well there you
have it folks, 1986 in a nutshell. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a thing or two,
but I'm sure when I go back to do a reedit of it, I'll add more. But for now, I
hope you guys enjoyed a brief synopsis of 1986 that took me all of three hours
to do. This is easily the longest post that I've ever made, and it's also the
only post that I've had to do extensive research on. But it was fun challenge,
and prepares me for posts I have in the future. But until next time guys.
