The Wedding Ringer Movie Review

I liked this movie.

I typically like Kevin Hart's movies, unlike a lot of people I know. People put too much emphasis on movies being homeruns and flat out the best movies ever. This movie is what it is and does what it's supposed to, and that’s providing laughs. I don't go into every movie expecting them to be best picture of the year, I rarely get those kinds of feelings from movies, and instead I take movies for what they are supposed to be. And The Wedding Ringer is just that, a light hearted comedy that brings about laughs with a lot of cheap jokes. For a movie that came out in the month of February, it was a great Valentine's Day movie for both a guy and a girl can go see.

Also a lot of people are expecting this to be like Friday or House Party type funny when in factually it's not supposed to be that at all, it's a Romance Comedy, and if you haven't noticed about Romance Comedies, they're typically corny and cheesy. Like I said, this movie did what it was supposed to do and it did it well. There were parts of the movie that were pretty hilarious, like when he found out what his name was for the best man role. But like all of the other movie reviews that I've done, I'm not interested in giving up too much details about this movie, just go and watch it with your significant other, it's worth it.

All in all, this movie had a great release date and an alternative to 50 Shades of Grey. I think Kevin knows what he was doing with dropping these movies in February, because last year About Last Night came out a month later from his Ride Along movie, and I know a lot of people went to go see About Last Night and if they couldn't get in, they went and saw Ride Along, very smart Mr. Hart. But any who, like I said, if you're looking for a cheap laugh with your significant other on date night, go see this movie, it was worth it.

If you saw the movie, what did you think about it? Was it funny to you or was it a waste of time, leave the comments below.

Until next time guys.
  1. i haven't seen it and as much as i love Kevin, sometimes his comedy can be a bit much to me but it seems like a great ensemble cast and even if i dont see it in the theaters, i will watch it at home

    1. Yea I can see what you mean, but this was a little bit on the lighter side, there may be one or two scenes in there for you that are over the top, but for the most part it's a pretty light heart comedy.
