Everyone that I've had a deep conversation with about 2014 basically
told me that it sucked pretty badly for them. Whether it was
financial, mentally, emotionally or spiritually, something went
really wrong for all of us. So when the New Year resolutions came
flying around, a lot of people were just putting it out there to
simply just have a better year. To just leave it all in 2014 and
come into 2015 swinging for the fences, and so far for me, it's been
one great year one month removed from the start of it.
I'm just glad that a lot of good friends of mine that are great
human beings are finally having things swing in their way, and if it
wasn't, they didn't get down but rather they found a way to win.
That's the big theme for this year, winning by any means. Not to say
they're going to go out and push people in the middle of the road to
get where they want to be, but they are out here not taking crap
from anyone, nor are they making excuses. Happiness is on the
horizon for everyone that I hold dear, and that makes me a very
happy person.
I've had a couple of opportunities for advancement at the job I
didn't really want to have in the first place, but ended up being
fun because of the people that I worked with on my team. But the
biggest thing was being offered a job overseas and getting a chance
to go to Hawaii to fine tune them before the big jump. That has been
the second biggest victory to date, with the biggest being the fact
that I'm getting myself mentally, emotionally, and more importantly,
spiritually back together.
Metaphorically speaking, I got back up
on the horse.
But enough about that, let's talk about what's going on in February.
I mean there's always black history month, which I've never been too
fond of because we can't be simmered down into the shortest day of
the month. But I digress on that topic; we'll get into that later in
the week. I haven't really been keeping track of the entertainment
side of things because I've been super busy with work and trying to
get my life together for this move, but I did manage to catch a
couple of movies this past month, like literally 4 lol. My top
movies of the year so far are:
1.
Selma
4.
Taken 3
Then on the music side of things I've literally listened to nothing
new at all so far this year, and I feel ashamed for even typing
that. I'm currently in the process of catching up on music since the
beginning of the year, and that's roughly over 400 tracks and like
20 albums, but by the end of this month I'll have a full list of
albums I like so far and standout tracks that I think are dope. But
speaking of what I think is dope, here are the actual songs that I
have in rotation at this moment, they're not really new songs, but
just some I found out about again, and just vibe with:
I'm really
looking forward to this month simply because of the opportunities that I have
personally and professionally, most of all, I'm just going to have some fun
finally. That's what I haven't been doing with my life, just enjoying it. I
applied that to my most recent job and people were always laughing and having a
good day, and that's because I was just trying to lighten the mood seeing as how
everyone just hated coming in there most of the time. That wasn't a cool thing
to be thinking, so instead of running with the crowd, I just decided to make
myself happy by telling jokes always trying to help others, and it rubbed off,
people were really trying to do better with themselves and have fun with the
job.
That's what
I'm going to take with me when I leave; just having fun and enjoying life with
my coworkers and not sweating the small stuff, my motto for this year will stay
the same: Life. There's nothing that you can do from stopping it from happening,
so while it's happening, you better make the best of it. But that's all I have
for you guys this time around, sorry for neglecting you for about a week and
some change, but I'm back now.
What are some
things that you are looking forward to this month? Celebrating black history
month or Valentine's Day? Not celebrating? Let me know what's going on in the
comments below.
Until next
time guys.
