Kingsman: The Secret Service Movie Review

I enjoyed this movie a lot more than expected.

So the reason that I saw this movie was because I didn't have a Valentine's this year and I wanted to at least treat myself to a movie, lame right? But I'm sure glad I did that because I actually like this movie, it was fun. It seemed a bit cheesy at times, and it was your typically action movie in retrospect. But for some reason I just liked it, and I don't feel bad for one second. What a lot of people don't know is that this is actually a comic book movie, and it was by a guy that made tons of comic movies come to life. It was based on comic written by Mark Millar, the same guy who bought you Wanted, Kick-Ass, Kick-Ass 2 & the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot & Captain America: Civil War in 2016. So needless to say that he has a good track record for movies as of late.

It has a pretty simple story for the introduction and it was a fast paced movie with great character development. Like always, Samuel L. Jackson & Sir Michael Caine bring that veteran umph that every movie needs with their great acting. Mark Strong is the man per usual, this was my first film seeing Colin Firth & Taron Egerton in roles and I wasn't disappointed in any sense. The cast easily clicked and it was great chemistry, it seemed as though everyone had fun and it wasn't too much pressure in this movie. I'm not going to lie, when I first saw the teaser trailer I wasn't too interested, but when I saw a full trailer I was all in for it. I didn't hesitate one second when this came out and I caught it at my usual matinee showing.

All in all, I'm all for this sequel and I'm ready for it to be announced any day now seeing as how it had a great return. I expect for it to have a more dark and grittier story around the second time, with a light touch. I'm totally in for the sequel and hope it doesn't disappoint. I'm just glad that I was single this year and wasn't dragged to go see 50 Shades of Grey, because I definitely fell asleep watching it on DVD, but that's for another time and another place. I suggest you guys go see this or rent it when it comes out, it's a nice change of pace movie to enjoy if you don't put too much expectation or thought into it, like most people usually do.

Have you seen Kingsman, The Secret Service, if so, what did you think of the movie? Ready for a sequel? Leave it in the comments below.

Until next time guys.
