Typically I
don't really care for religious figures that have mega churches because I feel
as though they aren't genuine, and granted I've never actually heard a sermon
from Joel Osteen or watched any sort of YouTube video with him preaching in it.
But I did decide to read this book after many recommendations from my therapist.
So I picked it up not knowing what to expect, and to my surprise, it was pretty
awesome and more.
The book is
formatted to have you read something every day for thirty days, so it's a
different message every day. Now I'm not going to sit here and talk in depth
about the book because that would defeat the purpose of you actually picking up
the book at your local bookstore and reading it. I will say that some days I
woke up not really feeling it or anyone and then I read the passage for that
day, and the world made sense.
I'm not
really big into church, like knowing all the bible verses and what not, but this
book help me understand the bible and how I need to strengthen my bond with the
Lord. There are actually a lot of cool things that I didn't know where in the
bible and it all sounded pretty legit when I was reading the passages associated
with each day's declaration. When I got to the end, the conclusion was just eye
opening and informative.
I will
admit there was a day where I wanted to fly off the handle and just act up, but
then I looked and read the passage for the day and it took me all the way back
down to mellow. Like I felt so anger and annoyance in my heart that when I read
his good words, I kind of just shut all of that down. I stood up for myself by
keeping it pushing like he said in his book.
All in all,
I'll say that I really needed this book and I needed to hear everything from it,
because it made me stop and think before overreacting at every single little
thing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who just wants to hear
the good word every day and get some motivation in their lives. Those days where
you just don't know, and don't want to be bothered when you wake up, will soon
disappear when you read the chapter for the day, it's just that good.
This is my
first book review ever, tell me what you think at the bottom in the notes and
any book suggestions that you think I should read. I have tons and tons of
eBooks so I'm not worried about running out of things to read lol.
Until
next time guys.
