Just another reason to leave well
enough alone when it comes to remaking movies.
Remaking movies is the current fad
right now in Hollywood and it's not a bad one, if done right. I should've
known that this movie was going to suck when I saw that it was rated PG-13,
nothing good can ever come from a horror movie that is rated PG-13. Honestly
that's one of the most backwards things you can do with a movie like this. I
mean granted the trailer is what lured me in, oh yea and my date wanting to
go see it. The movie was pretty much a let down in the end. We both were
hyped and were ready to jump, but by the end of the movie, we were both
pretty much like wondering if that was it.
The cast was ok, the kids seemed
more whiny that actually scary, but the parents played the role pretty well.
I didn't get the feeling of being scared senseless like I should have been,
but like I said, you won't get that with a PG-13 movie rating. When I watch
a scary movie, I want to be scared, not laugh at all of the dumb things
people do in these movies. But at last this was a wasted attempt at remaking
a classic, which was rated R if I'm not mistaken. The special effects were
on par and didn't lack a second in that department. But for the most part, I
didn't like this movie.
Would I recommend this
movie? Depends on the person doing the watching. If you're not into
the hardcore horror movie scene, then yea I would recommend it. But if you
get annoyed at plot holes and never really being scared, then this movie
isn't for you. IMO, they should have left well alone and made another movie.
But that's just my two cents though.
If you saw this, how did you like
it? Did it scare you or did you just laugh at most of the movie? Leave it in
the comments below.
Until next time guys.
