Eye of The Beholder

You know a kind spirit when you run into one.

If I had to sum up this friendship in one word, meaningful. People often confuse my social media stature and natural ability to have a conversation with just about anyone as indicators for having a lot of friends. As I state over and over, time and time again, that's not how I base who I want to spend actual quality time with, much less who I call a friend. But I'll say one of the better people that I've met through social media has to be Amesha. We met through twitter when everyone was doing the whole mass following of each other through the military connections section of it. To be honest I don't know exactly when we became this cool, I just know that there was a tornado involved and pizza lol. It's a long story, but in short, we've been friends for a very long time now. Thinking about it now, it's been a good four years since we became friends, that's pretty long in today's standards when people don't make it to the next month. She was one of few people that I kept in constant contact with when I was in the military and she helped keep my head level since she understood the pains of my job as a cook, (we were both fell under support jobs). But none the less, it was that kind of stable support and actual understanding of how it was a struggle to practically work every single day for 12hrs straight that got me though my last bit of the military, and I have to thank her for letting me lean on her like that when most couldn't.

There's not enough words that I I can use to describe Amesha's impact on my life to be quite honest. Everyone sees this beautiful, hard working, highly involved, socially involved, and outgoing solider; but to me she is all of that and more. She's hilariously funny, she listens, understands, and offers valuable solutions in addition to her honesty, loyalty and overall care for our friendship, she's a bit of a douche, in a good way though lol. I think one of the more recent things she's done in the past year was volunteered, as seen in the picture above. That's just one of the many things that she does on campus when it comes to being involved. Hopefully the things that she's trying to do in her last year at Elizabeth City State University comes true and plays out for her, it would be a nice way to close out her collegiate career on a high note, and it gives me valid reason to travel to that neck of the woods and show my support.

Even after we had our little break in our friendship due to a slight misunderstanding, coupled with the fact that it was a lot going on in life with me getting out of the military and what not, she came back around without a hitch after talking about it. And that's a very important thing when you lived a highly stressful life, understanding. One thing is for sure, the communication will forever be there, and the fact that if need be, we can talk about something until it's resolved, another reason that makes her awesome. When I think of what a friend is, Amesha has her picture plastered right by the word in the dictionary, so that's why I get a little annoyed when people just assume I'm friends with just anyone because my friends are this awesome. As life gets better for me and I push my way forward, I fully expect Amesha to be there, just chilling as only she can do. It's rare that I don't feel the need to be anything else but my goofy and talkative self, but I do when we hang out, and that's another important thing here, being comfortable. I hope you guys notice there's a trend of words that developed over the course of this blog lol. If anyone appreciates her patience in dealing with a hard headed, stubborn and just typical male at most moments, it's me.

So it's with great humility & pride that I introduce you guys to another one of my good friends, Amesha also know as my Thunder Buddy lol.

Oh and you know I had to post of my favorite pictures of her lol:
